Monopol – Weltweit – LP – Kraftwerk – german new wave synth pop

Monopol’s long out of print cult classic album Weltweit, og released in 1982. The sole output of the band, it is rare and difficult to find, with resulting high prices for an original. Inspired by Kraftwerk, YMO and Klaus Schulze, this exquisite collection of Kraut pop songs played on an impressive collection of analog synthesizers, self-builds and drum machines (considered cutting edge at the time). The band split up before a second album but continue to be peripherally involved in the music industry. Monopol was a studio-only project and actually never played live (despite some TV appearances). Limited edition with special bonus insert with lyrics and photos. Definitely a must-have for fans of NDW such as Grauzone, Reingold and the like. Presented on high quality 180gram classic black vinyl.
