Marquee Moon is Television’s debut album released in February 1977 by Elektra Records. By ’74, the band had become a quite a big noise in the New York Music scene playing gigs at all the right venues, CBGB’s being the key place. The band rehearsed extensively in preparation for recording Marquee Moon recording most of the songs in single takes.

Marquee Moon was critically acclaimed upon its release and achieved unexpected commercial success in the United Kingdom, it didn’t fair well in the US initially with poor sales. It has since been viewed by critics as one of the greatest albums of the American punk rock movement and a cornerstone of Alt Rock.
